The Beginning

Okay, so here's the gist of the story-- We're moving half way across the country to Michigan. Now that may not seem like a big deal to anyone else, but to us it's pretty HUGE! My wife and I were both born and raised in California... and in a relatively small geographical area of California. The furthest south we've ever lived is Orange County, the furthest north being the Central Coast, and the furthest east being the High Desert. So moving to Michigan could be like moving to a hole new country!

And, of course, both of our girls were born and bread in CA!

When we started telling our friends we were moving we heard a lot of "Oh, man the snow!" and "You'll be back" and 'You'll never make it through the cold!" SO I guess we could die!

Or we could love it! We've never really experienced seasons. We've never had a White Christmas. And I really have no idea what a snow shovel is for. All that to say this could be the greatest adventure the Carter's have ever undertaken.

So here's the plan: once a week (beginning with our last week in CA) one of us will drop some thoughts on here to track the adventure.
